DEADSHOWZ is made by SYKODELIC, LLC. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the DEADSHOWZ app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Android.
The short version: we don't collect anything.
DEADSHOWZ has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information about you.
Specifically, DEADSHOWZ does not:
We have no servers that store your information, because DEADSHOWZ has no user accounts and keeps no user data.
Everything you create or customize in DEADSHOWZ is stored only on your own device:
This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it.
On Apple devices, if you have iCloud enabled, this information may be included in your own iCloud backup or synced between your own devices by Apple. That happens under your Apple account and Apple's privacy terms — we never see it.
The Grateful Dead concert recordings in DEADSHOWZ are not stored in the app. When you play a show, the audio streams directly from archive.org (the Internet Archive), a publicly available archive.
When you stream or view recording details, your device connects to archive.org. That connection is between you and the Internet Archive, and their own privacy policy applies to it: archive.org/about/terms.php
DEADSHOWZ does not send archive.org any information about you — only the request for the recording you chose to play. archive.org is the only outside service DEADSHOWZ connects to.
DEADSHOWZ lets you send a list — a playlist, your Favorites, your Attended shows, or a single show — to another person. This is entirely optional and only happens when you choose to send one.
When you send a list, the link you send contains the shows or songs on that list, the name you chose to display as the sender, and a random code that lets the recipient’s app tell your shares apart from someone else’s. That random code is generated on your device, is not tied to your identity, your hardware, or any advertising identifier, and is not used for tracking.
The link travels however you choose to send it — Messages, email, or any other app. It does not pass through any server of ours, because we do not operate one. We never see who you share with, or what you share.
You can change or clear your display name at any time in Settings.
Because everything DEADSHOWZ stores lives on your own device, you can delete any of it yourself, at any time, without asking us — and without waiting for a response.
To delete specific items in the app:
To delete everything at once: uninstall DEADSHOWZ. Removing the app removes all of the above from your device permanently.
What is kept, and for how long: nothing is kept by us, ever, because none of it reaches us in the first place. We hold no accounts, no servers, and no copies of your data, so there is no retention period and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
On Apple devices, if you use iCloud, some of this information may sit in your own iCloud backup under your own Apple account. You can remove that through your device’s iCloud settings; it is governed by Apple’s terms, and we never have access to it.
If you have a question about any of this, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
DEADSHOWZ includes links that open outside the app — for example, a donation link to archive.org, and an email link for feedback. If you choose to email us, we'll see whatever you write and the address you send it from, and we'll use it only to respond to you.
DEADSHOWZ is a music reference app suitable for general audiences. Because we collect no information at all, we collect none from children.
DEADSHOWZ is a one-time purchase with no subscription and no in-app purchases. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Because the app collects nothing, we don't expect material changes.
